We'd appreciate your input! [29 Jun 2006|01:52am]

Hi, I'm posting here because it is glbtq related and I feel strongly that your input can really make a difference. However, if it is not in alignment with the essence of this community, please feel free to release this post.

I want to introduce a brand-new homo/bi/t friendly community: happy_gay_life This is a community dedicated to building a positive glbtq image by sharing joyful and constructive experiences of being glbtq.

Ever wonder why there are so few glbtq stories/movies with happy endings? I did.

I figure out that it has to come from us. We've got to count our blessings and share these lovely moments with each other: the special moments that bring smiles to our faces, that make our hearts sing, that tickle us, that move us to tears of joy ... on a daily basis.

Every time you share a line of joy, you're contributing to creating a better life for yourself and building a positive glbtq image.

Come! Join us and have some fun!

20 Months [10 May 2006|02:13pm]

[ mood | contemplative ]

Tomorrow is my 20 months with pinklithium. As usual she is working again and Im really not sure what I can do to celebrate. I always buy her a rose(if not more than one) and I used to take her out to dinner, buy her stuffed animals, candy all that good stuff. Right now I am at a loss for what to do because she gets out of work at 10pm and has a curfew of 10 so there really isnt anything after she gets out of work. Any suggestions?

X-posted a lot.

I'm new around here and wondering if their are any gay groups/clubs/orginazations.  I tried the "Under 21 Group"; it was a joke.  The college has a gay mens group but not a lesbian group.  I'm not 21...  but don't really care for the bar scene anyway.  I'm going to attempt PFLAG next... any other suggestions?

Thanks in advance.

[25 Mar 2005|10:54am]

Hey folks -

I'm currently living in the Pacific Northwest, but I'm setting my long-term sights on New Mexico. There's a school in Silver City that I'm interested in. Trouble is, I don't know a darn thing about Silver City... can anyone tell me about it? How far away is it from some of the larger cities in NM? In general, how would you describe the rent rates & cost of living in NM? Employment opportunities? Etc? (I'm on a student budget.) Queer friendly? Anything descriptive would help... I've only been to NM once, it was five years ago, and I was only passing through.

I'm cross-posting this to get as much information as I can.
Thanks in advance!

Please sign [22 Mar 2005|09:41pm]

[ mood | blah ]

Same-sex couples in New Mexico deserve equality!

If you agree, click here to sign EQNM's Equality Pledge:

I pledge to learn the positions of my State Senator
and State Representative on issues of full equal rights
for LGBT citizens in New Mexico.

As you may be aware, during the 2005 legislative session that just
ended, Equality New Mexico beat back three (3) attempts by ideological
conservatives in Santa Fe to ban same-sex marriage: a "super" DOMA that
would have voided wills, trusts, and other legal protections for gay
families; a constitutional amendment; and a "simple" (but destructive) bill
to define marriage as "only between one man and one woman."

The 2005 legislative session ended at 12 noon, March 19th. At 12:01,
EQNM launched a statewide education effort to make clear that this kind
of legislation harms thousands of children across the state. In other
states, similar legislation has been used as springboards for efforts
to remove children from households with same-sex parents. We have less
than ten months to educate both NM citizens and legislators in their
home districts that this kind of legislation is destructive to all
fair-minded citizens in New Mexico.

Governor Richardson helped us defeat a DOMA this session, but he is on
record saying he will sign legislation if it reaches his desk.
Supporters of equality and fairness need to show their strength to the
Governor. You can do that by adding your name to the Equality Pledge. It only
takes a moment:

The collected names will be delivered to the Governor to encourage him
to do the right thing. Help persuade him with an impressive number of
names -- let your friends know about this effort:
forward this email to supporters of equality and fairness

Please sign the pledge to get informed and stay informed. In return,
Equality New Mexico pledges to keep you informed. Learn more here:

Together we can secure equality for all. Thank you for your help
with this important campaign.
